We are Steve, Jodi, Bridger, and Julian Jones.
Steve and Jodi met in Omaha, Nebraska, discovered their mutual love of mountain biking, and married in 2001. Their sweet standard poodle, Tsuga, was adopted in 2003. They lived briefly in Chesapeake, Virginia, where their first son, Bridger, was born in 2005. In 2006, Steve retired from a 20 year career in the US Air Force and they moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, where Jodi took a position on the faculty at East Tennessee State University. Their second son, Julian, was born in 2008. They live in the Historic Tree Streets neighborhood, where they love hanging out with neighbors, growing a garden, and cuddling up together with a good book. Jodi and Steve maintain their passion for riding bikes and still find time for"date rides" on country roads or mountain trails. In 2010, they adventured on a 7-day back country hut-to-hut ride from Telluride, Colorado, to Moab, Utah. As well, Steve loves two-wheels of a motor kind and when he "has a pass," he takes some time to himself on his Honda VFR. Jodi is an avid open water swimmer who will occasionally risk hypothermia for a quick dip in Watauga Lake. Both love the outdoors immensely and have found being in nature with their two boys some of the most rewarding, enriching time, they have spent as a family. Alas, we lost our sweet Tsuga, age 15, in 2018 but many of these pages feature him, a testimony to his long-held place in our lives.
